Diastema and maxillary protrusion
The patient is unhappy with the presence of the space between the upper incisors (diastema) and the position of the incisors (protrusion).
Before treatment
During treatment
A fixed metallic bimaxillary device has been applied.
After treatment
The diastema has been closed. A fixed maxillary contention has been applied. No surgical intervention on the upper lip frenum has been necessary; the contention is fixed, and left there over a longer period of time, to prevent the reopening of the space.
