The price of porcelain teeth

Porcelain teeth
(scientifically called ceramic crowns)
have various prices, according to several factors:

  1. The type of the sub-layer on which the porcelain is applied. It can be metal, zirconia or porcelain. All-ceramic crowns (teeth made entirely out of porcelain) or zirconia-based ceramic crowns (teeth made of zirconia and ceramic) are more expensive than the metal-based crowns, due to the complex execution technique, involving computer Cad/Cam systems, requiring state-of-the-art equipment and expensive materials.
  2. The quality of the used ceramic, varying in price depending on the manufacturing company and the aesthetic features, hardness and resistance.
  3. The qualification of the doctor - technician team. The expertise, training and craftsmanship of the people involved in the execution of the crown are reflected into the end price. The adapting of the crown on the tooth, the correct replication of the shape and occlusion (bite) are important for the longevity of the prosthesis.
  4. The need for certain initial treatments must be taken into account (the treatment of cavities, gingivitis, root canal treatments); the prices of these works are added to the cost of the dental prosthesis.

If dental bridges are performed, the end price is calculated by multiplying the number of elements with the cost of a crown of the type used.

Choosing the type of teeth based on the price is not a good idea. Keep in mind that you will not change your teeth every day. Newer materials have a higher performance execution technology, which means a longer lifespan of dental prostheses and superior aesthetics.
More expensive materials are a long-term investment in quality.
